Provides routine attendant care and related services in the home for clients that follows the service plan created by the Client Services Supervisor. (Hours will vary based assigned client)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Directly reports to the Client Care Coordinator
- Assist client with personal hygiene, which includes showers, tubs, or bed baths, oral care, hair, and skin care.
- Assist clients in the use of toilet facilities, including the bedpan
- Assist clients in and out of bed, excluding the use of mechanical lift.
- Assist clients with walking, including the use of walkers and wheelchairs, when applicable.
- Assist clients with self-administration of medications.
- Performs light housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe, healthy, and comfortable environment for the client. This includes, but are not limited to the following:
- Vacuuming, wet or dry mopping
- Dusting client’s personal living space
- Laundry
- Errands, shopping, prescription pick-up
- Trash removal
- Dish washing
- Kitchen cleaning
- Changing bed linens
- Meal preparation and feeding, when required.
- Assist clients with prescribed exercises when the client and aide have been instructed by an appropriate licensed professional.
- Record and report changes in the client’s physical condition, behavior or appearance to the Client Care Coordinator.
- Document services delivered in accordance with Patient Hands Home Care, LLC policies and procedures.
- Must be able to handle stressful client situations and scheduling demands.
- Must be compassionate and have empathy for the elderly, disabled, and “at-risk” population.
- Must meet deadlines as assigned.
- Must attend monthly staff meetings.
Duties DO NOT include
- Dispensing Medication
- Non-weight bearing transfers
- Passive Range of Motion Assistance
- Trimming of Fingernail or Toenails
- Services not included a client’s service plan
- Give a Bed bath
- Changing an occupied bed
Working Environment
The work environment will consist of the client’s home. The employee will come into the office space for meetings and other assigned times.
Requirements
- Ability to perform the following tasks if necessary
- Ability to participate in physical activity
- Ability to work for extended period of time while standing and being involved in physical activity
- Heavy lifting
- Ability to do extensive bending, lifting, and standing on a regular basis
- Reliable transportation to and from client’s homes.
- Reliable cellular device.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Previous personal Care Attendant Experience preferred
- Current TB or willingness to receive one
- Complete skills check
- Must have valid Driver’s license and Care Insurance
